The United States Coast Guard (USCG) Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC) Medium Endurance Cutter Product Line (MECPL) has a need for development of a requirements type contract for the continued storage and maintenance of FME ALCO 18-251F series engines at the Fairbanks Morse Defense (FMD) Houston repair facility. This FMD Engine Storage and Maintenance contract is a follow on contract to take effect upon the expiration of the current 270’ Diesel engine requirements type contract created to support 270’ SLEP cutters. This contract shall consist of a base year with four option years. The contractor is required to provide storage space for the minimum quantity of 04 complete ALCO 18-251F diesel engines. These ALCO 18-251F diesel engines shall be stored indoors in a secure facility and re-preserved annually. These diesel engines shall be stored and maintained in like new “A” condition with original equipment manufacturer (OEM), Fairbanks Morse, LLC certified parts. These diesel engines shall be readily available upon demand for the completion of unplanned and scheduled depot and unit level maintenance for ALCO 251 engines onboard Coast Guard MECPL WMEC 270’ cutters. The USCG anticipates making a sole source award to the OEM; Fairbanks Morse Defense.
