The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Field Operations (OFO) Agriculture Specialists (AS) are responsible for the disposition of regulated international waste and Quarantine Material Interceptions (QMI), as mandated by 7 and 9 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). To enhance this critical function, CBP is initiating the replacement of eight (8) incinerators situated at various Ports of Entry (POEs). The existing incinerator fleet has exceeded its operational lifespan, leading to unsustainable maintenance and repair costs, coupled with extensive periods of inoperability.
