USCIS has approximately eight (8) million paper records requiring conversion to PDF. USCIS also receives approximately one (1) million new paper-based benefit requests annually, requiring conversion. Each benefit request could contain up to 5,000 pages. During the scanning process, a record must be converted to multiple PDF files. With the amount of volume being scanned, both hardware and software must function efficiently.
