TSA Canine Training Center requires five (5) 18-stall canine transport trailers to support increased training program demands and replace aging trailer infrastructure. Each trailer must safely transport 18 large canines, approximately 70 to 80 pounds each, in individual stalls with sufficient space for movement. The trailers must comply with applicable FMVSS, Federal DOT, NHTSA, and NATM requirements and include individual 17-digit serial numbers. Construction must be durable for frequent use and include a welded aluminum alloy mainframe, steel underframe, tandem axles, stainless steel flooring and wall liners, insulated walls and doors, proper drainage, and protected edges for canine and handler safety. Each trailer must include a dual-door stall system, outward-opening stall doors, inner safety doors, secure latches, ventilation, and features that support safe loading, unloading, and cleaning. Climate control must include roof-mounted commercial air conditioning and heating units, a ducted air system with adjustable vents for each stall, roof vents, and an exhaust fan system. The trailers must also include a commercial generator, fuel tank, shore power capability, LED exterior lighting, electric brakes with breakaway controller, rated tires, spare tire, storage compartments, and protected wiring to prevent canine access. The trailers must provide safe, secure, durable, and climate-controlled canine transport to support TSA Canine Training Center operations.
