Research abstract

J.T. McGraw and Associates,LLC,in collaboration with Purdue University, propose to demonstrate and test deployment of prototype COTS-derived optical SSA sensors designed to rapidly reconstitute and enhance global surveillance of GEO and near-GEO space.JTMA's advanced designs, techniques and algorithms allow small telescopes to achieve sensitivities very near those of larger traditional systems. When applied to COTS and COTS-derived hardware, the capability exists to expand sensor networks in response to events, be they natural disaster or conflict, on timescales of days to weeks, all while maintaining militarily useful sensitivity. This proposed work will demonstrate deployment speed and system performance using prototype system hardware and will ultimately lead to a cooperative agreement for continued sensor operation.
