Research abstract

Reducing vehicle weight through the usage of non-weldable alloys realizes numerous benefits for the Army - however, these materials lack feasible repair methods for in-theater use.Aeroprobes Additive Friction Stir technology (AFS) can fabricate or repair unweldable metals, yields wrought properties, is portable, and has significantly lower operating costs than other processes.
