Research abstract

AOSense proposes to build and deliver a single-axis atomic beam gyro/accelerometer for aircraft navigation. The proposed device will be an integrated physics package delivered with a 3U electronics chassis for laboratory testing and field demonstrations. In Phase I, AOSense completed the detailed design for prototype Transversely-cooled Atomic Inertial Navigator (TrAIN) gyro/accelerometer. By leveraging proven hardware and designs from related sensors, in Phase II AOSense will be able to build and test a fieldable sensor on an aggressive 2 y timescale.
