Research abstract

During Phase I of this project, WElkins identified, developed and established the technical merit of potential improvements to the SEAL Delivery Vehicle (SDV) Diver Human Thermal Interface (DHTI). In Phase II, we shall build prototypes of the next-generation DHTI, including a multi-zone Liquid Cooling Garment, Quick-Disconnect Coupling, and Fluid Delivery Lines. These prototypes will be tested in simulated subsea conditions to validate the thermal and operational improvements modeled in Phase I analysis.
