Research abstract
The proposed Rivetz solution will demonstrate how priority services can easily be granted and revoked to modern mobile devices on a self-service model. The solution will explore and verify a distributed model of access control and identity verification designed to operate in the fluid and challenging first responder environment. Simple and secure priority access to data and communications will both save lives and protect property. Demonstrating how modern subscriber services can move away from username and password to hardware assured registration of the device. The solution leverages technologies based on the Globalplatform specifications for secure payment transactions and the trusted computing standards for advanced hardware assurance. The solution is interoperable with over half a billion current mobile devices. Rivetz will combine strong identity with an assured tokenization model for a flexible model of granting service from peer to peer to group controls. Many commercial opportunities will benefit from a stronger service relationship with customers. As more things from cars to hotel rooms are activated by mobile protected keys, self-issuing access to groups and individuals will grow in value for first responders and the general market. The solution will leverage isolated and measured execution within the Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) to assure state of the art hardware assisted cyber security controls. Rivetz solution for priority access will assure only known devices in a known condition with a known user are connected to sensitive services and data.
