Research abstract
Stealth Software Technologies propose a novel messaging and transaction platform that is distributed, survivable and robust even under continuous attack. The platform provides privacy to message contents and participants by encrypting all messages, and utilizing cutting-edge zero-knowledge techniques for providing message/transaction authentication while preserving privacy. All messages will be logged on a distributed blockchain ledger, which is used for establishing validity of the message as well as for auditing purposes. Our platform will employ a novel infrastructure for maintaining the tamper-proof blockchain ledger: admitting efficient (sublinear) lookup and keeping the contents of the messages private, even from message authenticators and/or auditors. The blockchain will be maintained by a dynamic set of super-users, who maintain the ledger by authenticating transactions and adding blocks. We propose a version of fault-tolerantSecure Multi-party Computation to establish consensus among the (perhaps hierarchical) set of super-users, ensuring correct authentication and consensus even if a large fraction of super-users are disconnected, malfunctioning, or deliberately malicious. Assuming such a set of super-users is natural in the applications put forth in the SBIR Solicitation, our design allows us to avoid numerous pitfalls inherent to Proof-of-Work and related consensus mechanisms used in other blockchain systems (e.g. Bitcoin).Stealth Software Technologies propose a novel messaging and transaction platform that is distributed, survivable and robust even under continuous attack.
