Research abstract

Project SummaryFlow cytometry is an indispensable tool for interrogating the immune system in researchdrug discovery and diagnostic applicationsThe platform has undergone tremendous expansion over the past decade and nowmodern cytometers are able to analyzetoparameters per single cellfor millions of cells per sampleand hundreds of samples per experimentHoweveras the number of parameterssamplesand experiments increasesso too does the data analysis burdenCurrent flow cytometry software is unable to meet the needs of cutting edge applications due to limitations in computational power and lack of advanced data visualization toolsIn this proposalwe describe the further development of our cloud based cytometry software that is built upon a proprietary distributed computing engineHarnessing the power of elastic cloud computingour solution can analyze data faster than all currently available applicationsand can scale to handle even the most massive data setsIn this grantwe will further harden core features such as gating and compensationimplement data visualization tools that are directly connected to the raw dataand enable analysis across multiple experimentsThe result of our work will be an end to end solution for advanced flow cytometry analysisbuilt upon a scalablesecureand distributed cloud architecture that can meet the demands of currentas well as futureresearchers
