Research abstract

Aircraft maintenance work is a mission-critical function posing various potential hazards to human performers that must be accounted for through health and safety monitoring practices. The ability to continuously and reliably measure each workers overall physiological health status from a remote location would greatly improve worker safety while reducing the manpower costs relative to current processes. To support this need, Aptima will deliver the Tool for Rapid Assessment of Cognitive Readiness in Teams (TRACR-T), a technology for providing timely assessments of cognitive readiness using the most relevant measurement tools for an operational environment of interest. To provide these assessments, TRACR-T can utilize a blend of heterogeneous measures focused on human physiological indicators, behaviors, and interactions; and aggregate those measures at the individual and team levels. The goal of this effort is to advance TRACR-T for application toward Air Logistics Complex (ALC) health and safety monitoring, that utilizing physiological signals as key indicators of worker readiness. This work will position TRACR-T for eventual production, installation, and deployment to support ALC operations.
