Research abstract

Ursa Major will advance Arroway, a methane-LOX engine within Ursa’s Full Flow Staged Combustion (FFSC) product family by furthering the engine’s main injector design, targeted at a high-thrust booster application. This effort will leverage Ursa’s extensive experience base on Hadley, Ripley and build upon recent progress made via the FY22 program with Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), which advanced readiness for key Arroway major components including the thrust chamber, oxygen preburner, and oxygen turbopump. Additionally, initial manufacturing trials on the main combustion chamber were completed and subscale preburner injector testing is planned to complete in 2025.
