Research abstract

ABSTRACT:Space Micro proposes a flexible approach to simulating celestial objects with sufficient fidelity to allow hardware-in-the-loop testing with flight software. Key innovations include star scene creation from star camera perspective, multiple LCOS projectors at high resolution and combinations of dynamics and calibration routines to cover the range of testing needs.BENEFIT:High fidelity scene generation allows in doors validation of attitude determination sensors for long range missiles, high altitude aircraft and spacecraft. High resolution scene generation can be provided for government and commercial markets that employ optical navigation instruments.
