Research abstract

ANDRO Computational Solutions LLC proposes Drone-HAWK - a modular, passive drone threat detection system that combines radio frequency (RF), electro-optical (EO), and infrared (IR) sensing - to classify and characterize small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS) operating at low altitudes. Designed for use in contested and GPS-denied environments, it integrates radio frequency (RF), electro-optical (EO), and infrared (IR) sensing to provide reliable situational awareness without relying on active emissions or jamming. The system is optimized for deployment on UAS or as a ground-based unit and operates with minimal size, weight, and power (SWaP). Drone-HAWK interfaces with Army tactical networks, including TAK, to deliver timely threat alerts. Its architecture follows open system principles, enabling future extensibility and rapid integration with Army systems, supporting real-time decision-making in modern battlefield environments.
