Research abstract

ABSTRACT: Nuvotronics utilizes the unique PolyStrata metal micromachining process to create suspended recta-coax lines, high performance MMIC sockets, and millimeter-wave (MMW) interconnection circuits with low loss, small size/high density, and durability. Nuvotronics is proposing to develop high power, high efficiency K-band power amplifiers for future Military Satellite Communication Systems. During this Phase II project, the main goal will be to design and build an 80 Watt K-band amplifier utilizing state-of-the-art combining methods and amplifiers. Nuvotronics will demonstrate highly efficient operation through simulations and measured experimental data on a prototype unit. BENEFIT: Military and commercial satellite communications systems. Secondary applications in radar and electronic warfare systems.
