Research abstract

The complex array of technologically advanced mines, state-of-the-art sensors, manned and unmanned aerial assets, and enemy artillery capable of providing accurate and effective fire from protected positions, requires a 21st-century breaching solution that enables expeditious and efficient breaching so that our Soldiers can spend less time in the breach, resulting in fewer casualties and a greater ability to influence the battle. During our Phase I and Phase II efforts, we developed our PATH prototype software application to close this gap. PATH uses AI to support autonomous breaching operations to keep soldiers out of the breach and effortlessly integrates with fielded Army technology through its API-first approach and data synchronization. Our focus for this Sequential Phase II is integration of our bleeding-edge DRL and CNN algorithms and infrastructure enhancements (e.g., cybersecurity, hybrid cloud and edge computing) in order to get PATH into the hands of the warfighter and our Soldiers out of the breach.
