Research abstract

Triton Systems will develop and demonstrate the increased acoustic performance obtained with second order acoustic vector sensors for use in sonobuoys. We are designing elements with a center frequency of 1,000 Hz and a bandwidth of 400 Hz, as well as elements with a center frequency of 8 kHz and a bandwidth of 1.5 kHz. The self-noise of each individual second-order cardioid will be equal to or less than 30 dB.
