Research abstract

Triton Systems will address the Navy’s need for a robust pressure transducer that is suitable for use in aerospace turbine engines. Triton will improve upon existing MEMS products to provide a product that can withstand the extreme environment inside the engine, such as high temperature, vibration, and exposure to corrosive contaminants, while also offering low signal drift. The device will include a novel means to prevent the buildup of carbon deposits on the sensing element, which have caused spurious pressure measurements on existing products.
