Research abstract

General Lasertronics Corporation with subcontract support from the Applied Research Laboratory of Penn State University (ARL/PSU), which is a UARC that supports the US Navy Mantech program, will provide laser systems, painted material panels, coating removal services, and testing to determine laser operating conditions with surface protection automation that removes  coatings from US Navy metal substrates without melting or micro-cracking. Testing includes impacts on fatigue life, tensile strength properties, and reduction of cathodic disbondment in salt fog environments. At the conclusion of the 24 month project, sufficient results will be available to establish appropriate laser operating conditions for cost-effective use of laser ablation during maintenance for NAVSEA . Page 18 of the Technical Proposal contains information that is not Lasertronics Proprietary but is restricted to Government Only by contractual requirements flowed from the US Navy prime contract.
