Research abstract

Intelligent Power & Energy Research Corporation proposes a novel intelligent power management system that will manage sources and demand for optimal performance. The p intelligent power management system will have the following characteristics: •A system that optimally coordinates, manages, and dispatches generation resources with existing and anticipated load profiles to reduce overall fuel consumption. •A system that effectively integrates disparate generators and power distribution units to reduce battlefield fuel consumption. •A flexible and robust, automated and backward compatible power distribution network and implementation plan, providing improved efficiency and survivability in a tactical environment •Flexible, coordinated and optimized active control of sources and loads on the grid. •A system that detects change in equipment operating characteristics and can reduce mechanic’s effort to troubleshoot. The system will also have the ability to integrate advance prognostics and diagnostics when they become available. •A scalable building block approach using self-contained power systems. •An optimization and network configuration tool that embeds intelligent system control, establishes communications and provides real time performance management. •A grid interface for interoperability with legacy generation, distribution and load assets.
