Research abstract

This Small Business Innovation Research Phase I proposal seeks to develop a low-cost, compact, and rugged gamma-ray spectrometer that could be deployed in large numbers to provide enhanced security from radiological threats. The proposed approach is based on readily available components that are used in conjunction with proprietary designs and electronics to provide unmatched capabilities. The Phase I research will demonstrate the core approach, while the Phase II program will produce a fully functional prototype ready for commercialization.
