Research abstract

The Army needs a low-cost, widely-deployable system that performs route planning in real-time and provides access to a threat database and blue force positions. To date, no such system exists. In partnership with Comtech Mobile Datacom Corporation, Primordial proposes to combine innovative features from its revolutionary Ground Guidance software with the rugged, reliable, and battle-proven Movement Tracking System (MTS). During phase II, Primordial plans to further advance Ground Guidance’s utility to soldiers through careful study and in-depth testing with multiple user juries. Comtech will then integrate Ground Guidance’s most useful features into MTS, greatly accelerating system commercialization. The result will be an immediate and beneficial impact on the Army. As the prime contractor for MTS, Comtech has fielded over 17,000 systems worldwide with over 7,000 of those in support of soldiers’ efforts in Iraq. Ground Guidance’s patented capabilities represent the cutting edge of military routing. By teaming up, Primordial and Comtech will be able to offer a complete, compelling real-time route planning capability to logistical and tactical vehicles at a low cost with maximum benefit to soldiers in need.
