Research abstract

Ionfinitys objective is to develop an inexpensive compact, light weight, low power, stand-off, high-efficiency, rugged, integrated detection and identification system for chemicals, explosives, and drugs and integrate it with network radio, geodetic reference and autonomous operations. This intelligent portable system will be based on General Dynamics' JUNOTM system to which soft ionization, improved electronics, pulse generation, and other miniaturization enhancements will be developed. This system will utilize dynamic ion mobility, and soft ionization capabilities for very rapid substance detection and analysis with unprecedented specificity in a single portable system.
