Research abstract

This proposal is to develop a lightweight, long endurance, high power output, low cost sonobuoy and Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) battery to replace current chemistry and endurance limitations given the volume, weight and safety constraints. The proposal identifies the steps for preparing and identifying optimum electrode compositions, fabricating and evaluating laboratory test cells, and developing and characterizing fully packaged cells.
