Research abstract

From the Phase I results, it was determined that CFx made from the SEC coke precursor provided the best overall electrochemical performance, while CFx made from Prilled Carbon demonstrated efficient cell manufacturability traits. In Phase II, Quallion will perform further characterization and electrochemical tests on these materials, set up a prototype wound cell line and secure domestic sources of the carbon material. Throughout the 24 month period of performance, Quallion will develop test cells and perform electrochemical tests against various environmental factors and performance needs.
