Research abstract

Our primary technical objective is to complete the development of TSC's innovative concept for coherent multistatic AMTI or GMTI from radar systems that utilize a single high altitude transmitter and multiple close-range receivers moving with arbitrary, but known trajectories. This concept is based on an extension of our Generalized STAP theory to support air and ground moving target detection in the presence of severe clutter and interference backgrounds that are typical for high altitude ISR platforms. As part of the proposed work plan, TSC will quantify the multistatic MTI algorithm performance using analysis and computer simulation, and recommend viable CONOPS for its use in future Air Force ISR missions. A mathematical description of the multistatic MTI algorithm will be developed, and TSC will study whether Generalized STAP methods might be effectively applied to support new applications for future multistatic radars.
