Research abstract

In this Phase II program we propose to develop a narrowband blue laser system, transition a narrowband, wide field of view holographic filter to the blue spectrum, package the filter with a custom receiver, and validate these components both in the lab and in the Navy’s ASW Lidar system. The blue filter subsystem will be characterized in a relevant simulated environment in the laboratory as part of the Phase II base program. In the Phase II option, the blue filter will be packaged with a custom Lidar receiver, and integrated into the existing ASW system for testing. Field testing may be feasible pending constraints of the ASW program. All components developed under this project will be delivered to the Navy upon completion of the project.
