Research abstract

We propose an advanced voice generation system capable of cloning an individual's voice from a short audio recording and synthesizing speech in multiple languages, authentically rendering texts of arbitrary length within a unified model. This novel approach overcomes the limitations of existing technologies that require separate models for each language or struggle with longer texts.Technical Innovations:Unified Multilingual Neural Network: Our system employs a single neural network architecture that supports multiple languages, reducing complexity and computational resources compared to systems like Induced F5 TTS.Speaker Embedding Extraction: By analyzing a brief audio sample, we extract high-dimensional speaker embeddings that capture unique vocal characteristics, enabling accurate voice replication across different languages.Phoneme-Based Input Representation: Utilizing universal phoneme representations allows the model to generalize across languages, ensuring precise pronunciation and intonation without the need for language-specific models.Arbitrary Text Length Processing: The architecture maintains coherence and naturalness over extended sequences, addressing the limitations of models like OpenAI's voice generator, which struggles with longer texts.Cross-Language Voice Consistency: The system preserves the speaker's vocal identity even when synthesizing speech in languages the speaker has not originally spoken, a significant advancement in voice cloning technology.Applications and Impact:Enhanced Deepfake Detection: Generating high-quality synthetic voices aids in training and improving deepfake audio detection algorithms, contributing to national security efforts.Operational Efficiency: Facilitates effective communication in multilingual contexts, preserving speaker identity and enhancing intelligence and counterintelligence operations.Scalability and Adaptability: The unified model is easily extendable to additional languages and dialects, suitable for evolving operational needs and future applications like universal translators. Our technology represents a significant advancement in voice cloning and multilingual speech synthesis, providing a powerful tool for the Department of Defense to enhance national security and operational effectiveness while reducing resource requirements.
