Research abstract

Synterials Inc. has developed a pilot scale manufacturing reactor to coat ceramics fiber with boron nitride/nitride based interface coating. The thickness of each layer contributes to the performance of ceramic matrix composite properties well to the cost to manufacture. This program is meant to optimize manufacturing cost and mechanical performance of the coating for a CMC of interest to the Navy for turbine components.
