Software Protection for Embedded Applications

This work will develop and deploy multiple countermeasures for FPGA-based systems, including: error detection and/or correction using spatial, temporal and information redundancy, error identification and response using exception handling, error recovery and obfuscation using partial reconfiguration, and encryption using physical unique functions. Building on the prototypes successfully demonstrated in the Phase I work, this Phase II proposal will develop and deploy tools that allow users to select and insert multiple countermeasures for FPGA applications.
