Research abstract

In Phase I Syntonics demonstrated the feasibility of meeting the satellite communications antenna system requirements for the Multi-mission Maritime Aircraft (MMA) using pixel-addressable reconfigurable conformal antenna (PARCA) technology. PARCA panels create a highly reconfigurable aperture using conductive pixels to rapidly reconfigure frequency and pointing angle. In Phase II we will analyze, design, build, and test a breadboard transmission line to confirm our design for the prototype antenna and to demonstrate the technology’s ability to operate at satcom frequencies (8-30 MHz). We will then analyze, design, build, and test a Phase II prototype antenna panel that can be reconfigured to demonstrate frequency agility and beam steering.
