Research abstract

Corvid Technologies is pleased to offer the following proposal in response to solicitation MDA-073-019. In Phase 1 Corvid will demonstrate the state-of-the art in the use of first principle physics based modeling to predict damage and debris from missile defense intercepts. The resulting demonstration will show the ability of such tools to accurately model missile defense intercepts in 1 to 15 km/sec range. We will describe, based on our on past extensive experience and expert input from practiced users, what these models can be used for and what improvements need to be made to make them useful in the prediction of data of debris size, shape, mass, and velocity of fragments for a wide range of BMDS intercept conditions. We will offer a modeling path to interim solutions for intercept modeling as well as for development of a full toolset to provide data that is critical to support the development and validation of fast-running intercept damage and debris algorithms.
