Research abstract

We propose a low-cost, low-profile, electronically scanned, in both Azimuth and Elevation, X-band communications on-the-move (OTM) antenna. All electronics and power modules including MIL-1275 type power supply are enclosed inside the radome. There are no moving parts in the system. The antenna is designed to interface, using L-band, with VSAT type modems to provide the required services. In Phase I, we will develop the operational and functional specifications of the system, identify any known barriers or risks, and propose solutions to manage the risks. We will also be establishing the operational scenario for demonstrating the effectiveness of the system.
