Research abstract

Under this effort, Nova Sensors will develop a midwave infrared (MWIR) foveating demonstration camera system that will provide the capability to “hear” the infrared modulation present in the high-speed MWIR foveal imagery. This advanced capability will permit human operators to more fully assess threats over a wider dynamic range than is possible using conventional imaging and display systems. As a portion of this work, we will extend the concepts of multiple, simultaneous, high-speed foveal windows to larger focal plane arrays and will identify applications that are of potential importance to the U.S. government.
