Research abstract
A study of Mo-Si-B-XX alloys for high temperature structural applications is proposed. The material for such applications require strength, ductility, toughness, fatigue and creep resistance, and oxidation resistance. The Mo-Si-B alloy system provides an opportunity to develop desired properties. The alloy processing and microstructure synthesis will be pursued. The deformation mechanisms wil be proposed and studied.
