Research abstract

Conventional network visualization systems are primarily focused on showing networks with fixed topologies and do not scale well for the types of dynamic ad-hoc mobile networks that are increasingly prevalent in the net-centric military. Visualytics is developing a suite of next-generation visualization techniques that are specialized for showing this type of network with constantly evolving topologies and communications capacities. Our tools are designed to eliminate the clutter that comes from traditional node-link renderings of information, and they allow the user to better focus on the critical patterns and flows of the overall network activity.
