Research abstract

Real-Time Innovations (RTI) proposes to develop protocols, services, and methodologies for controlling and securing communications between communities of interest (COI) over WAN environments such as GIG. This implementation will be based upon the needs of the US Navy Open Architecture Enterprise Team (OAET) and FORCEnet communities. The primary approach will be to utilize broadly accepted and mandated commercial industry standards wherever possible, consistent with Open Architecture Computing Environment (OACE), FORCEnet Reference Model (Fn RM), and DoD IT Standards Registry (DISR). The goal is to enable COI to be rapidly assembled and disassembled based on dynamic mission needs while maintaining control over real-time and fault tolerance C4ISR system attributes. This Phase I effort will culminate in a high-quality proof-of-concept design, functional demonstration, and quantifiable performance results. Much development work will remain to optimize and fully test our solution during Phase II, but we are confident of our ambitious approach. The proposed work for this SBIR has broad applicability and value to both our commercial and government customers.
