Research abstract
In response to SBIR solicitation OSD06-H10, SYSNET International, Inc. is pleased to propose the design of an interface tool that will allow for the transfer of medical records from diverse commercial or government medical information systems to the DOD Military Health System AHLTA and the Veteran Administration's VISTA medical information systems. As part of the Phase I effort, we will research and design a flexible integration framework that is platform and language agnostic and that will allow civilian providers to incorporate the consults that result from patient visits to civilian provider facilities into the patient’s Electronic Health Record. Key elements of the design of the proposed integration framework are its ability to support the widely varying capabilities of the providers’ medical information systems, its ability to incorporate various components that both the DOD and VA have already invested money in, and its compliance with health IT industry standards, thereby increasing its commercialization potential.
