Research abstract

The objective of the Phase II effort is to develop a prototype Jet Blast Deflector (JBD) actuation system based upon the electric actuation approach investigated in Phase I. This approach uses a variable displacement electro-hydrostatic-actuator to replace the normal hydraulic actuator used for the JBD. The investigation will include test verification of the prototype hardware with a loading system representing the linkage geometery and panel weights of the normal JBD.
