Research abstract

The objective of this program is to utilize a new type of microwave magnetic materials called MetaFerrites to design novel spin wave limiters to protect radar receivers from “front door” high power microwave jamming signals, and high power, short pulses and UWB interference. In Phase I, we will model, simulate, and design Metaferrites, design techniques for processing the composites, and investigate the design of S and X band MetaFerrite waveguide and microstripline. The MetaFerrite limiters are expected to be lightweight, self-biasing, fast responding and compatible with MMIC integration.
