Research abstract

BlazeTech proposes a rugged, cost-effective probe which can record the time history of the dynamic pressure in a hostile flow including entrained particulate matter. We will perform a detailed simulution to study of the expected response of the probe, and will conduct a series of laboratory tests to examine the actual behaviour of the probe built in phase I under more severe conditions. We will then design and build a suite of probes to cover the complete range of particle sizes and flow speeds of interest to the Air Force.
