Research abstract

Phase II proposes to do additional research on isomers, as needed to evaluate the promise of notional isomer-based and isomer-derived systems. Measurements will use radiation from conventional DC or pulsed x-ray sources to synchrotrons, possibly enhanced by x-ray optics such as refractive lenses. Systems of interest range from microbatteries up to small nuclear reactors similar to those proposed for space, and include isomer support equipment with stand-alone applications.
