Research abstract

Chatten Associates proposes a research and development plan to improve the head-aimed vision system for remote operation of unmanned ground vehicles that was demonstrated in Phase I. We will deliver a number of head-aimed vision systems to ARDEC Picatinny for their use in test and evaluation. We will specifically support a test of high-speed tele-operation of an Ackermann-steered vehicle. We will improve our head-aimed system design by adding better sensors, including a Sony block camera, microbolometer, and laser rangefinder. We will also work with ARDEC Picatinny in tests of dismounted soldier / multi-robot teaming.
