Research abstract

MARK Resources proposes to develop a signal processing technology for improving detection, tracking, discrimination, and kill assessment performance of AF ground-based BMD radars. This will be accomplished by modifying the beam pattern to provide continuous and simultaneous dwell time on all objects in the surveillance space, and also by developing the algorithms that can take advantage of the increased dwell time. Integration over longer dwell times provides higher SNR for detection, as well as much finer Doppler resolution for tracking, discrimination, and kill assessment. Boeing is our teaming partner, for assessing the impact of the modified operation on the BMD system.
