Research abstract

An all-reflective zoom telescope for EKV is proposed to provide a larger field-of-view (FOV) that would shorten search time, enable resolution of objects at longer acquisition ranges, improve on-board discrimination performance, and improve resolution in end game, thereby enhancing aim-point selection. Efforts include the design of the optical surfaces meeting the EKV form factor prescription, optomechanical design of the telescope, electrical design of the actuation system, assessment of the telescope performance relative to system requirements, and development of fabrication and test plans.
