Research abstract

The technical objectives of the Phase II program will be to leverage the quad-band feed model created in Phase I into an overall antenna design capable of satisfying many of the upcoming military SATCOM requirements. The objectives include: • Refine existing feed model for performance and manufacturability • Create detailed feed drawings • Manufacture feed assembly • Test feed assembly at all frequencies for gain, beamwidth and sidelobes • Perform iteration to optimize the design and retest • Create reflector and subreflector design o 24 inch (approximate) reflector design for Communications on the Move  Additional potential sizes for other applications will also be considered o Optimize gain and sidelobe performance with multiband feed • Create detailed drawings • Procure reflector and sub-reflector o Including the cost of necessary tooling • Test antenna system
