Research abstract

This STTR Phase I project will develop a programmable photonic integrated circuit to provide a practical hardware platform to support a robust quantum encryption system. Proposed is a two dimensional lattice structure where the architecture of the device explicitly implements quantized states as "wells" between the couplers. In operation, the proposed photonic integrated circuit will be used at the transmitter for quantum encryption algorithm, and at the receiver for decryption.
