Research abstract

Efficient structures requiring low-volume and low-mass have an important role in future military and commercial missions especially in theatre of space. These structures can increase the peformance of applications requiring large apertures such as space-based intelligence, surveillance, and reconnasissance systems. These structures can also be efficient as inflatable, deployable target simulators that require multiple large targets packaged in a small volume. Accomplishing these missions requires low-volume, low-mass structures combined with efficient stowage. L’Garde’s inflatable, rigidizable composite structures can meet these requirements providing the needed capabilities. L’Garde will continue to implement the designs for these inflatable, deployable, low-mass, low stowage volume structures in the roles of large aperature antenna systems and single package, multiple target simulation systems. L’Garde will continue to identify and develop the appropriate technologies and application to provide the basis for the derivation of requirements for candidate large deployable structures. In the case of target simulators, L’Garde will also manufacture a deployable system ready for flight.
