Research abstract
Computational steering consists of determining initial parameters for a problem and monitoring progress of software in order to stop the process if the calculation is not proceeding well. The "operator" then resets parameters based on some measure and restarts the compuutation. This process is repeated until the desired result is obtained or a critical limit is achieved. The purpose of this proposal is to produce a computational steering tool for driving optimization software.
